Politics in your gaming podcasts? How did that happen? In this, the fifth installment of The Podcastle, your regular trio of Jim Sterling, Wardrox and Atheistium discuss the political situation regarding videogames in Europe. Sort of.
Actually, there is a surprising amount of (gasp) actual discussion in this episode, so if you tune into the show merely to hear the word c***, then you’ll probably be disappointed. That said, you will get to hear my new plan to open a fertility clinic in my bedroom, Atheistium divulge her secret videogame love fantasies, and the debut of RAGEDROX.

I take great offense to the whole “Don’t let children play games” idea. I got so pissed when I wasn’t allowed to play Vice City when I was 9. It made no sense whatsoever. When I finally got my hands on it, I handled it well.

- Brass Eye should be part of the GCSE curriculum. I don’t care what subject takes it on, it’s fucking awesome.
- Piers Morgan edited the Daily Mirror. But he is a fucking shit - his humiliation on Have I Got News For You is superb.
- My favourite game (and I’m a guy who doesn’t buy a lot, let alone partake in internet gaming) is GTA: San Andreas, which has, amongst other cool weapons, knives. Now, I may have picked up ebonics and and used the word “nigger” like I’m Enid Blyton, but I’ve still yet to kill anyone. Even when I used to work in Subway and had access to a variety of knives. Gordon Brown, Keith “fucking prick” Vaz et al are typical clueless politicians who don’t know games, being the wrong generation.
- A BBFC woman came and gave a talk at my college, saying that Spider-Man killed the Green Goblin at the end of Spider-Man. I told her that Spider-Man jumped out the way of harm and didn’t touch the glider that the Goblin hurled towards himself. She disagreed. True story!
- Who on Earth did that last song?!?! The Wurzels?!?

I actually have that Daily Mail front article stuck to my bedroom wall ‘Ban these sick games’ with pictures of the boxes for GTA 3 and Vice City double pack, Soldier of Fortune 2, State of Emergency, Manhunt, Doom 3, and Hitman, lolz
